On May 28, in Kviv one of the participants of a meeting near city Council, Serhiy Favorskyi, member of “USU ATO” organizations prevented Andriy Drozdi, journalist of online media Zaxid.net from doing their job and threatened them with physical attack.

In May, experts of IMI registered 13 cases of violations of freedom of speech in Ukraine. All these cases were related to the physical aggression against journalists. These are the data of monthly IMI monitoring “Freedom of speech barometer”.
One of types of the violation of journalist’s rights was cases related to prevention of journalists activity – 7(April – 8, March – 15, February – 11, January – 7).

6. A cameraman was beaten during clashes in Kharkiv. Police opened a case.

Kharkiv Police opened criminal proceeding due to the fact of physical aggression against a cameraman of one of the local TV channels and preventing him from doing his professional duties. Incident took place on June 7 on the territory of a shopping mall “Barabashovo”
